Department:                                      Planning Department
Hours:                                                15-20 hrs/month - contract position remote/flexible hours
Starting Salary Range:                     $30.00 per hour - depending upon qualifications
Description of Position:
The Town of Wayland seeks a part-time Minute Taker to prepare minutes for the Planning Board. This is a remote contract position with a flexible schedule.  The Minute Take is responsible for watching/listening to recorded Planning Board meetings and prepare meeting minutes in a timely manner.
Specific duties include:

  *   Watch recorded meetings, prepare minutes in accordance with the Massachusetts Open Meeting Law.
  *   Ensure all minutes are comprehensive and accurate with correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, arrangement and format.
  *   Ensure prepared minutes filed with the Town in a timely manner.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications:
Education:  High School diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree in related field preferred.
Experience:  One (1) year of experience in administrative/clerical work; Experience preparing minutes for public meetings and familiarity with the Massachusetts Open Meeting Law preferred.
Skills/Abilities:  Must have proficiency in Microsoft Word and Windows based computer use.  Must be dependable and able to work independently.  Must be proficient in English and have solid grammar, spelling and writing skills.
