Good morning,

The City of Beverly Planning & Development Department is searching for an
entry-level planner to support a dynamic, progressive, and busy planning
office. The Associate Planner is involved with, and at times leads,
long-range plans, grant management, and technical assistance, and
frequently collaborates with other City Departments.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): implementing a Master
Plan, Historic Preservation Plan, and Open Space and Recreation Plan;
supporting the City’s arts and culture economy; and drafting new and
amended zoning ordinances. The position may support administrative
priorities that include: housing creation and affordable housing;
sustainability and climate action; transportation and mobility; open space
preservation; and racial equity. This position typically staffs the Design
Review Board and the Open Space and Recreation Committee. Board assignments
and projects in the office are balanced among 5 professional staff based on
personal interests, expertise, and workload and may change. The ideal
candidate would be comfortable communicating with the public and leading
meetings and enthusiastic about public service.

This position provides varying levels of technical and administrative
support to several City land use boards and the public, in addition to
performing directed studies and research at the request of the Director and
Assistant Director of Planning & Development. See full job description and
qualifications at beverlyma.gov/Jobs.aspx. Salary range $52,440.55 to
