Adding to what Art said, the guidelines for Framingham were drafted by MAPC and crafted in tandem with the new zoning, which included a section of “Design Standards” that we (a working group of staff, Planning Board, and Town Meeting Standing Committee on Planning and Zoning members) decided could be enforceable under zoning. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any more questions about it.

Good morning!

In 2015, Framingham adopted amendments to CB District Zoning & Map to encourage TOD development, with excellent support from MAPC and a subcontractor team. The city's TOD web page <https://www.framinghamma.gov/260/Transit-Oriented-Development> provides background and useful links.

The amended CB zoning code includes CB design standards. The work also generated CB design guidelines, adopted as Article 1 of the 7/25/19 Framingham Planning Board Project Review Guidelines<https://webapps.framinghamma.gov/WebLink/ElectronicFile.aspx?docid=1249449&dbid=0&repo=Framingham>.

Please let me know of any questions.

Sincerely,

Hello All,

Has anyone recently gone through the process of updating or developing new downtown design guidelines, and would be willing to share their guidelines and/or RFPs, if you worked with a consultant?

Thank you,
