Hi all -
Call for Abstracts "Planning for New Towns: An International Symposium on Abundant Housing and Adaptive Zoning"<https://www.linkedin.com/posts/urban-attitudes-lab-808067358_call-for-proposals-planning-for-new-towns-activity-7311791087851851776-MOCl?>
Abundant housing advocates are increasingly coalescing around the need for "new towns," large master-planned communities accomplished through adaptive zoning innovation. These new towns consider the range of transportation, water/sewer, electricity, waste, safety, education, and other infrastructures while allowing for the creation of places that are mixed-use, walkable, bikeable, and dense enough to support public transit.
This symposium will be held at Tufts University in October 2025 and bring together creative thinkers and practioners from around the world who are advancing knowledge in these areas, helping to shape a new kind of planning and design practice, one that embraces innovative approaches to housing crises through community-based solutions.
Proposal Deadline: May 1, 2025
