The Town of Whately is accepting applications for the position of Community Development Administrator. Duties include: provides staff assistance to the land use boards with respect to town planning and permit review/approval; assists in the analysis, planning, and implementation of town-wide projects and initiatives; works closely with boards and committees and department heads to develop and submit applications for grant funding and to administer successful grant applications, including but not limited to grant reporting, reimbursement and grant close-outs; furnishes professional, technical and administrative assistance in updating and clarifying zoning bylaws and other regulations, maintains knowledge of regional planning issues; performs research, analysis and policy development for long-range and strategic Town planning efforts. Attendance at evening meetings of various boards and committees is required. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in planning, public administration or a related field (Master's degree preferred) and a minimum of three years of municipal work experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
