The Town of West Newbury seeks qualified candidates for the position of Town Planner, a part-time (28 hrs/wk), benefits-eligible position, with some evening meetings required.
Responsibilities include review and administration of site plans, subdivisions, special permits and other permit applications before the Planning Board, policy implementation, and performing managerial technical and administrative work in support of the elected Planning Board.
Minimum qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in Municipal and Community Planning or related field and at least 3 years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience; knowledge and understanding of municipal planning, development and zoning issues, and state and local land use and zoning statutes and procedures.
