Hello!
Tim Shea here - a Providence planner - sneaking into the MA Planners
listserv to amplify the CNU33 Legacy Projects Call for Interest (linked
here).

.
You might've heard the news that Providence has been selected to host the
annual Congress for New Urbanism next year from June 11-14, 2025.
In the run-up to the Congress, CNU will be organizing a handful of “Legacy
Projects” – charrettes in communities in and around Rhode Island that pair
nationally recognized designers, planners, policy and data analysts, etc.
with a local host organization (or organizations) to produce a plan that
can catalyze short-term progress and long-lasting impact. To give a sense
of the caliber of potential consultants, last year’s project teams included
Opticos, Arup, Perkins & Will, Stantec, Street Plans, Zimmerman/Volk, and
ZoneCo. To explore previous years’ Legacy Projects, check out:
https://www.cnu.org/our-projects/legacy-projects . *Deadline for Letters of
interest is September 13th!*
A geographic boundary of eligibility has not been officially set by CNU,
but there is some understanding that Legacy Projects must be within an hour
or so of Providence. I'm sure there would be some great projects in the
Fall River / New Bedford area and other parts of southeastern MA!

All the best,
Tim
