[Massplanners] Program on ADUs and the Affordable Homes Act * UPDATE

Hi Everyone,

APA-MA Housing & Community Development is sponsoring an online Lunchtime
Conversations session on "Accessory Dwelling Units under the Affordable
Homes Act," Tuesday, Aug. 27, noon-1:15. Our speakers will include Amy
Kwesell, Esq. from K-P Law, whom many of you may know, and Jenny Gingras,
Westborough Town Planner.

Amy will review the new law, what it says or doesn't say, the effective
date, and so forth. As a municipal attorney and an expert in all things
zoning, Amy will be a huge asset to everyone who attends this meeting.
Jenny Gingras will introduce some ADU "how to" guides and educational
resources that may be helpful to city/town planners over the coming months
if property owners approach you about how to get started with an ADU on
their property.

The Aug. 27 session will be recorded and we will provide the recording to
APA-MA.

Please note: I know a few planner colleagues will be on vacation at the end
of the month. No worries! We will schedule a "Part 2 on ADUs" for all of
you in early October. I think the Citizen Planner Training Collaborative
(CPTC) may be announcing some training sessions, too. Stay tuned! It's a
great time to be a planner in Massachusetts!
