[Massplanners] MA DCR Leasing Opportunity- Historic Curatorship Program

Dear Planners and Planning Partners,

Spreading word about something a bit different yet related to community development, historic preservation, economic development…

The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation has issued an RFP for a leasing opportunity in Beartown State Forest in Monterey through the DCR’s Historic Curatorship Program (the same program that has helped activate the Bascom Lodge, Mountainside Bakery & Café in Princeton, Willowdale Estate in Topsfield, and the Speedway in Boston, and many other reuse/preservation projects). The former Superintendent’s House- built around the late 18th century as a post and beam farmhouse and later expanded and altered by the CCC for park use- needs a Curator to bring it back to its full potential in exchange for a long-term lease.
