Hello.

Mass Audubon is hiring for two positions to join our Nature in the City
Program team.

Here are the links and details.

*Boston Community Engagement Coordinator

The Community Engagement Coordinator will be part of Mass Audubon’s Nature
in the City team focused on activities in Boston. Their primary role will
be the Alliance Coordinator for the Boston Tree Planting and Maintenance
Program. The program provides grants to nonprofit organizations to plant
trees on privately-owned land in the City of Boston. Mass Audubon serves as
the Alliance convener and fiscal agent for the distribution of grant funds.
As the Alliance Coordinator, the Community Engagement Manager has
responsibility for managing the Alliance member organizations (recruitment,
communication, meeting facilitation); co-creating the Alliance’s governance
structure; overseeing the tree planting grant application process,
including the disbursement of funds; coordination of tree planting and
maintenance training materials and education sessions; and general support
of the Alliance and its tree planting and outreach goals.

After the first year of the Boston Tree Planting and Maintenance Program,
the Community Engagement Coordinator’s duties may also include additional
community engagement efforts to advance Nature in the City goals in Boston,
or educational curriculum development and programs in Boston depending on
interest, skills and funding.

Nature in the City Program Coordinator

The Nature in the City Program Coordinator works directly with the Senior
Director of the Nature in the City (NITC) Program to protect, restore, and
activate urban greenspaces with people living in disinvested neighborhoods
across the state. Specifically, the NITC coordinator assists in the
development of NITC city-specific strategies in multiple cities (Boston,
Cambridge, Fall River, Lawrence, Lowell, New Bedford, Springfield, and
Worcester, among others). The strategies address land protection,
nature-based education, ecological restoration, and advocacy efforts with
the goal of increasing access to nature.

The Program Coordinator assists in the management of ongoing activities and
partnerships in cities where Mass Audubon has begun its NITC program
(Boston, Cambridge, Lowell). This position also supports the NITC Senior
Director in the development of program-wide processes, such as best
practice documents, evaluation strategies, and administrative reporting.
The Program Coordinator works with Mass Audubon staff from multiple
departments to bring together the technical expertise and regional support
that best meets the needs of each NITC city.
