Hi Mass Planners,

Tufts University is hosting an exciting and stimulating day-long conference on April 28th: The 2nd International Conference on Urban Experience and Design (Ux+Design/2023<http://sites.tufts.edu/uxdesign>), hope you can join us!

With speakers from across the globe, the conference will feature powerful new biometric tools that can give planners, designers, and architects new ways to understand the human experience and better design for it (like an ergonomics for cities). More than anything, it's a new way to view the built environment: from the inside of our head, instead of "plan view" or from a CAD model.

Drawing on a Cognitive Architecture<https://www.routledge.com/Cognitive-Architecture-Designing-for-How-We-Respond-to-the-Built-Environment/Sussman-Hollander/p/book/9780367468590> framework that argues that we are born pre-set to respond to the world around us, Urban Experience/Ux (playing on the shorthand for User Experience, Ux) means that the planner's work can benefit from insights from biometrics and other windows into human emotions and unconscious responses. You can register here: http://sites.tufts.edu/uxdesign

Be sure to let me know if you have any questions.

-Justin
