[Massplanners] Juneteenth Follow Up

Allentza, Judi, and all

While not 100% certain, my guess is that it is a stingy personnel board questioning the provision of another holiday for staffers rather than taking a position on the merit of a specific holiday. Granted their choosing to do this over this specific holiday could be seen as not the best optics.

In the end, I am glad to see that my staffer, who is on the Board, will have ample ammunition (over 70 responses) to address any hesitation to follow suit.

Thanks again

Chris

I am really glad this a discussion happening. I also agree with Judi, but as a DEI in planning specialist, I am not surprised that there is discussion about honoring Juneteenth as a holiday.

My hope is that this is a sign of more diversity, anti-racism and cultural awareness to come.

Sincerely,

As you might have guessed I am in total agreement with you Judi and cannot fathom why this is even an “issue.”
