Boylston is great community, with a newly minted Master Plan.  It would be a terrifc community to work in.

Town Planner/Land Use and Inspectional Services Director

The Town of Boylston seeks a Town Planner/Land Use and Inspectional Services Director. This position will be responsible for programs related to land use, zoning, growth and development in accordance with community and economic goals as envisioned by the Board of Selectmen.

As head of the department, this position is responsible for hiring, training, and supervising employees.  The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, project management, budgetary experience and communication skills and have a thorough understanding of land use principals and regulatory service functions and requirements of a municipality. In addition to exercising initiative and independent judgment, the candidate must be able to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders in a team-oriented environment and serve as a liaison between the public, property owners, developers, and the Town boards.

Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's degree, with a Master's degree preferred in Urban Planning or a related field, five to ten (5-10) years of progressively responsible municipal experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.  Certification as a Planner by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is preferred. A valid motor vehicle driver's license is required.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive starting salary with a hiring range of $88,000 to $92,000 annually and a generous benefits package that includes Blue Cross/Blue Shield Health Insurance coverage and a government pension plan.

This position will report directly to the Town Administrator and will receive technical direction from the town's Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, and the Conservation Commission.
