The City of Worcester's Division of Planning and Regulatory Services seeks applicants for two positions: Conservation Planner/Agent and Planning Analyst. CONSERVATION PLANNER/AGENT
This position provides professional administrative support for the Conservation Commission and manages municipal programs related to wetlands protection and open space conservation, including administration of the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and City of Worcester Wetlands Protection Ordinance. This position serves as an agent of the Conservation Commission with responsibility for inspection and enforcement of Commission actions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in environmental science, civil or environmental engineering, planning, or a related field.
* Four (4) or more years of professional experience in the conservation planning, development review or related fields.
* Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's degree in environmental science, civil or environmental engineering, planning, or a related field (May be substituted for two (2) years of required experience).
* Two (2) or more years of experience providing professional administrative support to a Massachusetts Conservation Commission, or serving as a Conservation Commissioner.

SALARY: $66,663 - $71,547 annually, full-time, exempt, with an excellent benefits package.


PLANNING ANALYST
This position is responsible for supporting a variety of planning activities involving subjects such as land use, zoning, development review, urban design, and comprehensive planning. This position provides professional and technical assistance to Boards and Commissions, including the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals. Attendance at evening meetings (typically 2 meetings per month) is required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in city or regional planning, civil engineering, geography, architecture, landscape architecture, or other related discipline.
* Two (2) years of experience applying planning principles and techniques in a professional setting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's degree in city or regional planning, civil engineering, geography, architecture, landscape architecture, or other related discipline (May be substituted for two (2) years of required experience).
* Prior customer service experience (working with the public).

SALARY: $25.44 - $28.88 hourly, full-time, with an excellent benefits package.
