Beyond the Listed Funding Sources and 13 Grant Programs, have y'all encountered additional grants that will take compliance into consideration?<br>

So far my list of "other" grants includes: DOER's Climate Leaders Decarbonization, and I was informed that FCAM threatened to withhold FY25 Firefighter Safety Equipment funds (but then didn't after lobbying).<br>

When I was in Milton, we had been awarded a grant from the Seaport Economic Council that was awarded with the contingency of compliance. When the Town fell out of compliance after the referendum vote, that grant award was rescinded. That programs is associated with EOED and I would imagine other funding from that Office to come with the same award contingence. The Transportation Improvement Program also has points and a multiplier attached to sites "included within a Section #a 'MBTA Communities' zoning district" in some of their scorecards.<br>
<br>
>From my experience with the Town, I would read section 2 in the Determinations of Compliance section "Determinations of compliance also may inform other funding decisions by EOED, EOHLC, the MBTA and other state agencies which consider local housing policies when evaluating applications for discretionary grant programs or making other discretionary funding decisions" broadly, and assume that all discretionary state programs relevant to housing to be covered by that section.<br>

The EOHLC has now posted the Official version of the Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) regulations. The ADU statute, in addition to the regulations, are now in effect. Please use the versions that are on the ADU website, linked below. You must download the Official Regulation version that was published by the Secretary of the Commonwealth on Friday 1/31/25 - if you downloaded an earlier, "unofficial" version please make sure you have the Official version.<br>

Specifically, take note of the following:<br>

?Q: How does the Zoning Act?s requirements for MBTA communities impact a community?s ability to receive funding from the State??<br>
<br>
A: Section 3A to the Zoning Act (Chapter 40A of the General Laws) requires each of the 177 MBTA communities to have a zoning district in which multifamily zoning is permitted as of right, and that meets other requirements set forth in the statute. Any noncompliant MBTA community is ineligible for funding from the Housing Choice Grant Program, the HousingWorks Infrastructure Program, the MassWorks Infrastructure Program, the Brownfields Redevelopment Fund, the Site Readiness Program, and/or the Underutilized Properties Program.  All other Community One Stop for Growth programs will take noncompliance with Section 3A into consideration when making grant award recommendations. For information on compliance with the MBTA communities law, please visit <a href="http://www.mass.gov/mbtacommunities" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">www.mass.gov/mbtacommunities</a><<a href="https://www.mass.gov/mbtacommunities" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.mass.gov/mbtacommunities</a>>.??<br>

When I was in Milton, we had been awarded a grant from the Seaport Economic Council that was awarded with the contingency of compliance. When the Town fell out of compliance after the referendum vote, that grant award was rescinded. That programs is associated with EOED and I would imagine other funding from that Office to come with the same award contingence. The Transportation Improvement Program also has points and a multiplier attached to sites ?included within a Section #a ?MBTA Communities? zoning district? in some of their scorecards.<br>
<br>
>From my experience with the Town, I would read section 2 in the Determinations of Compliance section ?Determinations of compliance also may inform other funding decisions by EOED, EOHLC, the MBTA and other state agencies which consider local housing policies when evaluating applications for discretionary grant programs or making other discretionary funding decisions? broadly, and assume that all discretionary state programs relevant to housing to be covered by that section.<br>
