<div dir="ltr"><div>The City of Northampton zoning ordinance allows pets and farm animals under 350-5.3 "Accessory Uses." (<a href="https://ecode360.com/11957346">https://ecode360.com/11957346</a>) The enforcement authority is the building dept. When people call to complain about neighbor hens coming into their property, we tell people first to try to talk with the offending neighbor and show them the ordinance before making a written complaint to the BD. Subsection A of the ordinance covers farm animals. Subsection B covers pets. Here in Danvers, the keeping of non-household pets on a residential property is permitted by our Board of Health. The BOH regulations have standards which require that the animals are confined to the property for which the permit is issued, but open grazing across property lines is acceptable if the neighboring properties provide confirmation/approval in writing to the BOH.<br>

I recently dove into the state regs for staff report on a proposed ordinance amendment to expand hours of operation for retail here. As far as I could find, there are no hour or day restrictions on adult-use retail sales. Delivery and social consumption have some hour restrictions. Other than that, the state regs defer to municipal restrictions.<br>
