<p class="MsoNormal">I’m sorry, this is just not a big deal. It’s standard practice for municipalities. And yes, we’ve either got engineers or qualified consultants who can review these checklists.

<p class="MsoNormal">Developers can build the roads, fulfill their obligations and be done with it. Municipalities must carry the burden of poorly built roadways. I’ve seen this before on numerous occasions—I’m sure many of us have--even with private roads
that eventually become public liabilities because the developers no longer care to fix the problems they created by cutting corners.

In regards to the pushback, I'd assume that compliance with state/federal/local rules and regulations is a condition for Site Plan approval at the onset of development. Based on my experience, Planning Boards usually make that determination after reviewing
with appropriate department heads.<br>

I'd be interested in why as planners, we would be concerned with the pushback of developers over public safety.<br>
