<div dir="ltr">The Chelsea Zoning Ordinance does not differentiate between restaurants and fast food restaurants for off-street parking purposes. Both require one space for every three seats, permanent or otherwise, plus one space for each three employees on the largest shift. Retail uses require one space for every 300 square feet of floor area up to 50,000 square feet, plus one for each 600 square feet thereafter. In our downtown district (Retail Business (BR)), the first 5,000 square feet of retail floor area is exempt from off-street parking requirements.<div><br></div><div>John DePriest</div><div>Director of Permitting & Land Use Planning</div><div>City Hall, Rm 106</div><div>500 Broadway</div><div>Chelsea, MA 02150</div><div>617-466-4182 (direct)</div><div>617-466-4195 (fax)</div><div><a href="mailto:jdepriest@chelsema.gov">jdepriest@chelsema.gov</a></div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Wed, Apr 6, 2022 at 11:27 AM Eric Salerno via MassPlanners <<a href="mailto:massplanners@masscptc.org">massplanners@masscptc.org</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr">While I'm curious about parking requirements for many uses, I have a more immediate need to check with the hive mind about what's being used in other towns' parking calcs for fast food restaurants.
