The APA-MA Housing & Community Development Committee is offering another great “Lunchtime Conversation” meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 18 at noon. This month and for the next few months, we’re turning our attention to community development
challenges that touch on but are not limited to housing. Our January 2022 topic: the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504. As many of you know, these federal laws require municipalities to conduct a self-evaluation and develop a transition
plan. We will discuss the importance of ensuring that people with disabilities can fully participate in municipal life and we will review the process of conducting a self-evaluation and developing a transition plan. Special attention will be paid to accessibility
assessments and planning for outdoor spaces – a topic that may be helpful to many of you that are updating or soon will be updating your Open Space and Recreation Plan. There will plenty of time for your questions.
