Don't wait! Only 20 tickets left for this Tour!
Join us for The Incredible APA-MA Summer Boston Architectural Boat Tour! June 20, 2025 from 2PM - 4PM. This fantastic event is sponsored by the American Planning Association Massachusetts Chapter<https://www.apa-ma.org/> (APA-MA), the Consulting Planners of Massachusetts<https://www.consultingplanners.org/> (CPM) and The Massachusetts Association of Planning Professionals, Inc<https://www.massplanning.org/>. (MAPP).
This 2-hour PRIVATE tour, hosted by Charles River Boat Company<https://youtu.be/okdw7LuMvRA>, offers spectacular views of historic and contemporary architecture along Boston Harbor, the Charles River Locks, and the Charles River basin. Narrated by a guide from Boston By Foot<https://bostonbyfoot.org/about/bbf/> and co-sponsored by Boston Society for Architecture<https://www.architects.org/about>, a center for architecture and design, the tour will chronicle the evolution of Boston's built environment, telling the story through an architecture and neighborhood lens. Attendees will take in stunning views of the city while learning of Boston's architectural history and seeing its evolution play out before them-from buildings dating as far back as 1830 to the glass façades of the city's more modern 20th- and 21st-century buildings. The tour will include landmarks such as Marriott's Custom House, the Prudential Building, and the Hancock Tower, as well as cutting-edge contemporary design by today's top architects. The changing skyline and the contrast between the older-style architecture in downtown and the newer development in the Seaport area will be discussed.
The tour cost is $15 for APA-MA, CPM and MAPP members and $20 for guests. Snacks will be provided and a cash bar will be available.
This event is approved for 1.5 AICP CM credits.
