All-
Lenox does not have a tree removal or clearing bylaw. There are some
provisions in our Site Plan Review sections, but they are very broad.
Tree removal and clearing can, however, come under the jurisdiction of the
Conservation Commission if the 'subject' is in or in proximity to a
resource area as defined by CMR 310, the Wetlands Protection Act. This is a
very common issue here; there are many reasons for clearing trees besides
obtaining a great view at all costs, some of which are preservation-minded.
