What did we expect? Of course, a 900 square foot or less ADU wouldn’t be deemed affordable, as their larger SHI-eligible brethren are. And, to add insult to injury, the tiny ADUs are regarded as full-sized market-rate dwellings that bump up the denominator in the 10% calculation. All of which will make it even harder for municipalities to attain their required level of affordable housing. Thanks, EOHLC!

Yes, you are correct.  KP-Law advised us that each ADU counts as an additional housing unit to the overall market-rate housing stock.
