[Massplanners] Planning Department e-newsletter

Hi Maureen,

OCPC uses MailChimp, however I do feel that Constant Contact can be a better/ more user-friendly option for newsletters. Cost wise, I believe MailChimp is cheaper but with less features.

Canva is another option for free however, you would need to send out through your own email and not through a larger system such as MailChimp and Constant Contact.

Feel free to reach out if you want to discuss more.

Megan

We use MailChimp in Lynn and it works fine for us! We do English and Spanish versions. We have enough subscriptions that we pay a monthly fee now but it's not crazy.

Maureen,

You might want to look into Substack, which is a blogging platform, technically, but sends blog posts out as email. So it functions like an e-newlsetter. It's free to use and (unless you turned on a paid option) would be free to subscribers.

I use it for my blog and find it very user-friendly and intuitive.

Dear fellow planners:

The Montague Planning Department is interested to create an e-newsletter for community members who wish to sign-up to receive emails about Planning Department news, updates, upcoming events, and more.

I am hoping to find a platform that is either free or low budget that provides a design/layout template. Does anyone have recommendations to provide?

Any guidance would be much appreciated!

Sincerely,

Maureen
