[Massplanners] ADU Bylaw

Ok - question about ADU bylaws. Previous regulations had 3 year expirations on Special Permits for ADU's but were restricted to blood related family, and some were even granted larger ADU's than 900 square feet. When the the new ADU laws go into effect in February - How can the town write its bylaw to allow these to proceed forward as pre-existing non-conforming? Must they continue to have blood related relatives per their permit and continue to get renewals from a bylaw that no longer exists? Do they get stripped of their special permit and become allowed by right? What about the larger ones with excessive square footage? Or ones that don't have the additional parking space? How do these become grandfathered when they don't conform with the new regulations?

Loaded question, I know. Eagerly anticipating your responses.
