The Town of Hopkinton seeks a Conservation Administrator

Salary:$70,491 to $98,696 (full range) Annually, depending on qualifications

40-hour work week

The Conservation Administrator serves as principal staff and advisor to the
Conservation Commission, assisting the Commission in administering the
Wetlands Protection Act and Hopkinton Wetlands Protection Bylaw and
acquiring, managing, and protecting conservation lands. The Conservation
Administrator participates in town-wide natural resource planning efforts;
conducts environmental reviews, and provides guidance for selected projects
to town boards and officials. Work is professional and technical,
developing strategies and programs to provide for the Town’s natural
resources, open space needs, and environmental permitting. The employee
must work with tact and discretion while working in a collaborative and
highly public-process work environment; performs moderately complex
administrative duties; and performs all other related work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Biology, Geology, or
related course of study preferred; certification in soil science and/or
wetland delineation will be considered and three (3) to five (5) years of
experience in conservation and wetland science; or any equivalent
combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

   -

   Knowledge of state, and municipal wetland permitting and protection
   laws; conservation practices and environmental sciences.
   -

   Ability to read and interpret engineered and surveyed plans, GIS, FEMA,
   FIRM, and USGS Topographic  plans;
   -

   Proficiency with computers and Google G-Suite in a corporate/office
   environment; Ability to maintain knowledge and skill in utilizing
   software programs;
   -

   Skill in organizational, writing, interpersonal/collaborative
   communication

Licensing/Certifications: Valid U.S. Driver’s License
