The Town of Acton is hiring for an Assistant Planner to join the Land Use team!

We are looking for a candidate that is passionate about public service and thrives in a collaborative workplace environment. The Planning Division provides staff support to the Planning Board, Board of Appeals, Community Preservation Committee and Select Board for Site Plan approvals. This is an entry level position where the successful candidate would be fully immersed in the regulatory work of a municipal planner and work collaboratively across departments and neighboring communities to help implement community established goals.

In addition to regulatory work, this year's work plan for the Planning Division includes:

  *   "Habitat for All" - A robust community engagement process to pursue natural resource development with feasible inclusionary zoning as the only by right method for future residential subdivision.
  *   We are also updating our Housing Production Plan; we are kicking off public engagement in September
  *   Teaming up with our Sustainability Office to implement a Shared Streets and Spaces Program grant for a regional bike share program
  *   Leading Town-wide wayfinding design planning
