At least one town’s building inspector here feels they are required by the state to certify ADA compliance, even when no building permits are involved. I don’t know if this is a new position/policy.

Just saying---
Usually the function is part of the Building Department’s Commissioner/inspector/zoning enforcement jobs! Some community’s also use support to the building department with ADA-504 Coordinators and/or Disability Commissions.
Good luck

Are there any town planners responsible for reviewing site plans for Architectural Access Board's regulations (521 CMR) compliance?
For the first time in my planning career, I am responsible for reviewing that aspect of site plans so I'm wondering if anyone has a checklist or cheat sheet that I can review.
I was also thinking some sort of certification in the site plan application or rules and regs would be handy to have the designer confirm compliance or indicate if they'd be seeking variance.
All advice is appreciated!
Best,
Sarah
