Dear All,

A quick correction: the program referenced below is run by MassHousing not the Mass Housing Partnership (MHP).

Best,
Kristina

Corrin, et., al.,

Mass Housing Partnership (MHP) has a “Planning for Housing Program” that can provide technical experts to assist your municipality in evaluating the feasibility of repurposing municipal buildings for affordable housing. Follow this link to access the contract between the Town of Hudson and MHP. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1IobFZBequvCYNLOq09zKvGS7iFymTDK-?usp=drive_link

This program was instrumental in helping the Town to select a former municipal building (vacant Police Station) and work with the adjacent neighborhood to develop design guidelines for a future project (which broke ground two weeks ago!!). MHP can also help you with pre-development costs—site surveys, 21-E and other environmental due diligence. I can’t say enough about how wonderful the staff at MHP are and their willingness to help municipalities advance housing productions goals.

Best,
Kristina

*A colleague is seeking a sample contract for a consultant to evaluate Town
property to see if the properties are suitable as a site for an Affordable
Housing Project or Projects. **Have your communities done anything
similar? If so, I'd appreciate a copy of any RFP.*

*Thanks, Bob Ritchie*
