Good afternoon MassPlanners - I'm posting this on behalf of my colleague Kathryn McNelis, manager of the Community Development Unit at DHCD. Please direct questions to her!
Good Afternoon - this is a message related to the upcoming competitive grant round for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Application guidance is posted on the CDBG website Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) | Mass.gov<https://www.mass.gov/service-details/community-development-block-grant-cdbg>. Please note, the FFY23 Draft One Year Action Plan has also been posted and should be read before application guidance, as the One Year Action Plan takes precedence over the language in the application guidance. If you do not have an account set up in the CDBG online Grants Management System and you are interested in applying, please contact me as soon as possible.
For those of you who are less familiar with the CDBG program, this federally funded program helps eligible cities and towns to meet a broad range of community development needs in housing, infrastructure, revitalization, economic development and public social services. It supports CDBG eligible activities and encourages applicants to develop coordinated, integrated and creative solutions to local problems. Note, every CDBG-funded activity must qualify as meeting one of the three national objectives of the program: Benefiting low- and moderate-income persons; Preventing or eliminating slums or blight, or; Meeting other community development needs having a particular urgency.
Please note, the deadline to submit an online application is March 3, 2023. Don't hesitate to contact me should you have questions. Thank you.
