Description:  The Department of Urban Studies and Planning (DUSP) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology invites applications from individuals who would like to join our faculty for three years as a lecturer in the areas of urban design and Planning. The Department seeks a dynamic and creative teacher with a record as a practicing professional in urban design, policy, land use planning, architecture or landscape architecture and some previous experience in teaching. The position requires teaching two to three classes per year, participating in department committees, and serving as an academic and thesis advisor to students enrolled in the Master of City Planning program. The person hired will be expected to teach urban design in studio and workshop settings, and urban design theory and reflection on practice through seminars and lectures.

Minimum Qualifications: A graduate (master) professional degree in planning, architecture, landscape architecture, urban design or related field is required. Minimum 3 years of professional experience in urban planning or design; prior teaching experience in professional development or at a graduate level; ability to teach in cross disciplinary and dynamic setting that cater to both designers and planners. A PhD is encouraged but not required
