PLANNING BOARD ASSISTANT for the TOWN OF EDGARTOWN.

This is an incredibly supportive Town, an active and involved Board, and a
very significant part of a very forward-thinking community.  This is well
beyond a simple administrative assistant, but someone who will be a key
part of planning in the town - and on the island!  A person with some
skills in municipal government, looking to learn, and grow their resume,
will find this to be a very good opportunity.

The Town of Edgartown through its Plan­ning Board seeks a qualified
Assistant to provide administrative support to the Plan­ning Board.
Principal tasks include but are not limited to: customer service to the
pub­lic, attorneys, and developers; explanations of procedures,
regulations, zoning bylaws and relevant state statutes; processes
ap­plications; coordinating with other municip­al departments; prepare
meeting prepara­tion, agendas and minutes; prepares De­cisions issued by
the Board; prepare pro­posed changes to zoning bylaws; main­tains public
records; prepare monthly and annual department reports; maintains
de­partment budget and general office duties as required by the Board.

An Associate Degree and two years of relev­ant municipal experience, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge of municipal
land use, subdivi­sion law and other regulations preferred.

This is a full time (40-hours per week) position, with some nights
required.  The starting salary range is $30.78-$32.00 / hour.
