VIRTUAL MEETING ON ZOOM

AGENDA
1. Welcome and Introductions (10:00 a.m.)

2. The Basics of Survey and Inventory Projects
Jennifer B. Doherty, Local Government Programs Coordinator,
Massachusetts Historical Commission (MHC)
Your historical commission knows that it is important to document your community's historic resources, but where do you begin? What makes a "good" inventory form? How long will it take to comprehensively document your community? This workshop will provide an overview of survey and inventory work, one of the most important tasks a local historical commission can undertake. We will review the MHC's inventory forms, past survey efforts, current inventory standards, and how you might develop a survey plan to begin comprehensively updating your community's survey of historic resources. An overview of the MHC's Survey & Planning Grant program will also be provided.

3. Case Study: Town of Clinton
Phil Duffy, Community & Economic Development Director, Town of Clinton

4. Case Study: Town of Sturbridge
Barbara Search, Historical Commission, Town of Sturbridge
