[Massplanners] Reminder MBTA Communities: Important deadlines

Good afternoon MassPlanners -

This email is a reminder for the 175 MBTA Communities as identified in the new Section 3A in MGL c40A.  You can learn more about the MBTA Communities legislation and draft guidelines at: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/multi-family-zoning-requirement-for-mbta-communities. You can access the draft guidelines, recording of a webinar about the draft guidelines, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and more at this website.  Please note that the FAQs will be updated from time to time.

March 31, 2022 is the DEADLINE for Public Comments on the Draft Guidelines that are posted at the above website link.  Please use the online Public Comment form which is available here<https://www.mass.gov/forms/submit-public-written-comment-on-draft-guidelines-for-multi-family-zoning-requirement-for-mbta-communities>.

May 2, 2022 is the DEADLINE to submit the MBTA Community Information Form which is available here<https://www.mass.gov/forms/mbta-community-information-form>.  To remain eligible for MassWorks and Housing Choice grant programs in the current grant round (FY 2023) MBTA Communities must comply with requirements in the "How to Comply in 2022" document posted on the website and fill out the online form no later than May 2, 2022.
