The Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the American Planning Association Massachusetts Chapter (APA MA) invite you to "Measuring & Managing the Curb." This webinar will take place on Wednesday, July 20 from 12-1:30pm.

This webinar will feature research and presentations from MPO staff and authors of two recent reports to assist municipalities in maximizing the potential of curb space:

  * Managing Curb Space in the Boston Region: A Guidebook (October 2021)
  * Transportation Recovery Guidebook for Commercial Business Districts (January 2022)

Blake Acton and Betsy Harvey, the project managers of each study, will speak to curb management in the Boston region by identifying case studies, best practices, and strategies, as well as how to develop a municipal curb management framework.

Attendees will then hear from Jason Schrieber of Stantec, who will discuss how municipalities can measure the curb, an essential step in understanding curb usage, and what tools are being used to collect, share, and analyze curb data.

Measuring & Managing the Curb will provide planners with tools and resources to address the increasing challenge of aligning curb space needs to meet demand and achieve a community's goals.

Speakers:

  * Blake Acton, Transit Analyst/Planner, Boston Region MPO
  * Betsy Harvey, Equity Program Manager, Boston Region MPO
  * Jason Schrieber, Senior Principal, Stantec

Moderator:
  * Daniel Amstutz, Senior Transportation Planner, Town of Arlington

This event has been approved for 1.5 AICP CM credits by the American Planning Association.
