To MassPlanners,
It's a capital budget time, and I have an idea for digitization and seeing if something like it exists. We have A LOT of old planning department files here in file cabinets. I am looking for a company to not only scan and digitize them but input them into some software that makes it easy to search old files. As you know, in Planning we often receive a lot of random old requests and I would like to easily use a software program to quickly pull an old file. I know there are some companies like Kings Information Systems that digitize but I am wondering if there are any software companies that digitize, and provide some sort of categorization/record-keeping software? We have an organized internal file system here but I am wondering if there is actual software for better record-keeping and storage of planning files and applications long-term. I do know the retention schedule.
Thanks!
