Administrative Assistant - Planning Division, Economic Development Department - City of Worcester
The City of Worcester has an opening for an Administrative Assistant (Gr. 5) within the Executive Office of Economic Development's Planning & Regulatory Services Division. This professional position will primarily support the Planning & Regulatory Services Division and will be responsible for providing analytic, administrative, clerical, and customer service support. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, professional setting where they will meaningfully contribute to the development of the City of Worcester.  Some responsibilities of this position include:

*         Assist with processing monetary transactions, developing invoices, fee refunds, etc.

*         Greet and direct customers and visitors; answer high volume phone calls

*         Order and take stock of office supplies, monitor office equipment, and schedule repairs as needed

*         Provide customer service to the general public regarding general inquiries (including application requirements, property and/or project information) and transactions for land-use boards/commissions

*         Organize, track and manage current and archival documents for land-use filings with the Planning & Regulatory Services both digitally and physically (filing)
Bilingual and multilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Requirements:

*         Associate's degree in Business/Public Administration, Communications, Legal Studies, Urban Studies, Liberal Arts, or related discipline

*         Three (3) years of customer service and clerical experience in an office setting

*         Proficient with computers, including proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:

*         Bachelor's degree in Business/Public Administration, Communications, Legal Studies, Urban Studies, Liberal Arts, or related discipline

*         Previous experience conducting research, querying records, managing data, and/or process management

*         Previous administrative experience in a public sector office setting

*         Notary public
SALARY RANGE: $23.33 - $28.27 hourly, fulltime (40 hours per week)
