[Massplanners] [EXTERNAL] Digital Library for Old Files

Erving received MVP funding to switch our failing server in Town Hall to a town-wide cloud server using Sharepoint. We used the Town Clerk's archiving funds as a match and used William B Meyer's services to digitize microfiche. We put these digital, keyword searchable vital records in Sharepoint/Onedrive. Now they're easily accessible and we can add to them as we digitize more. Scanning paper files was not part of this project, but we wish we had included it because the microfiche scanning ended up being much, much less expensive than anticipated since we already had Sharepoint in place. We had budgeted $20,000 for the scanning and it ended up costing ~$3,000.

We did our procurement under the FAC96 State Contract, attached.

Hi all,



The City of Attleboro is seeking to hire a company to scan all of our Planning Board, Zoning Board, and Conservation Commission paper files and plans and to create a usable database of said scans (as well as a method for adding new applications to the database).  We would like a non-proprietary system, so that it is simply handed over to us to manage at the end of the job.


Has anyone done a project like this and, if so, would you please share the company you worked with and the cost?
